Safety Yours Is Our Top Priority

Safety Yours Is Our Top Priority

Jet skiing is an incredible sport filled with chills, thrills, and sometimes spills. You should read carefully to ensure you meet our strict safety requirements for renting and operating such powerful machinery.

You Must Complete All Safety Tests and Courses Before Arriving

Born On or Before December 31, 1987

You do not need a Boater Safety Card and can sign rental agreements without issue. You can operate wave runners by yourself, and you can even take a passenger.

Born On or After January 1, 1988

For the safety of all participants, you must complete a boater education course and receive a temporary certificate or ID card. You are allowed to operate wave runners alone. You must be 18 years or older to drive and sign the rental agreement. You must be 18 years or older to take passengers.

15 Years Old or Younger

Younger passengers are welcomed to come along but banned from operating wave runners themselves (not even under supervision). Even if they have a temporary certificate, have completed the exam, or possess an ID card, younger kids will not be allowed to operate the jet skis and must ride with a driver who can. Florida law forbids this (Chapter 327.393); they must show proof of age and photo identification.

Boater’s Test Who Needs It and How To Take It

ALL operators of PWC in your party, required by age, will need to take the Boater’s Safety Test and pass. Passengers who will be riding but not operating jet skis do not need to take the test. The test consists of
25 multiple choice questions with unlimited attempts. You should be able quickly complete it before your appointment. The average completion time is 20-30 minutes.
